Studio Mundfish has released the highly anticipated Patch 1.4 for Atomic Heart on PS5 and PS4, introducing 120fps support for the current-gen version and an extensive list of fixes and enhancements. Players with a 4K TV and HDMI 2.1 support can now enjoy an ultra-smooth gaming experience with up to 120fps on PS5.

Notable updates in Patch 1.4 include fixes for broken trophies, as well as the option to resize the HUD and subtitles. Visuals and audio have also been improved, featuring enhanced shadows, shaders, and first-person animations. In addition, several quests have been fixed, allowing players to loot corpses in water, enjoy a refined Mass Telekinesis ability, and experience smoother climbing in corners.

Atomic Heart, which received a 6/10 rating in our PS5 review, offers stunning visuals and a versatile ability system. The game is described as a “mashup of shooter, stealth, and RPG” that pays homage to its influences but struggles to match their quality. While the alt-history setting and various approaches to robot-killing are engaging, the story and character development can be inconsistent and messy.

Patch 1.4 brings numerous improvements to Atomic Heart, addressing issues related to achievements, voice-over language auto-detection, and various gameplay elements. Optimizations have been made for mob bodies and health regeneration when loading a save. Stability improvements have also been implemented, along with PC-specific fixes for DLC content visualization on characters in the main menu.

With the release of Patch 1.4, Atomic Heart is set to provide an even more immersive and enjoyable experience for PS5 and PS4 players, as Studio Mundfish continues to refine and enhance the game.
