Welcome to your go-to guide for conquering the fearsome Sprout Captain in Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Here, we’ll provide essential tips and tricks to help you emerge victorious from this challenging boss encounter.

Confronting the Sprout Captain

Once you’ve purified all four shrines in the Forgotten Forest, make your way to the Guardian Tree (indicated by a yellow marker on your map) and position yourself on the circular platform in front of it. Activate a Pulse to initiate the boss fight.

The Ruthless Sprout Captain

Be prepared for the Sprout Captain’s relentless aggression. They will charge at you, executing a two-swipe combo. You can choose to parry or dodge this attack. If you’re skilled at parrying, consider unlocking the Parry Counter upgrade to swiftly counterattack with a powerful spin move that inflicts significant damage.

Frequently, the Sprout Captain follows their two-swipe combo with a lunge attack. If you parried the initial combo, you won’t need to worry about the lunge. However, if you dodged the combo, be prepared to jump, parry, or dodge again when the lunge comes your way. Dodging is the recommended strategy for dealing with lunges.

Be cautious of the Sprout Captain’s potent three-move combo. They will swipe their sword left, right, and then left again (or vice versa). Aim to parry the first swipe to disrupt the sequence and create an opportunity to deal damage.

A Quick Trick to Inflict Early Damage

As soon as the Sprout Captain appears, quickly shoot the yellow diamond on their body to remove a quarter of their health instantly.

Bring the Sprout Captain Down Stay on the offensive, use your arrows wisely, and remain vigilant against the Sprout Captain’s attacks. With persistence, you’ll defeat this formidable foe.

Upon the Sprout Captain’s defeat, enter the tree and use your Rot to cleanse the corrupted bulb. Shoot the blue bulb to purify the Guardian Tree, triggering a cutscene to play.
